About Us

Mr. Burkhardt and Ms. Kendall birthed The BackYard Trio in 2002 while watching their own animals’ behavior. Sara’s love of writing and Jason’s love of the Word, with God’s guidance, are blended to produce a soft and sensitive journey through the Scriptures. Jason and Sara have aspired to give life to 2 dogs and a cat as they trace the Scarlet Thread of Redemption from the Garden of Eden to the glorious calling of the Church for His Kingdom. These lovable animals tell warm and vibrant stories in these series of books as they visit with the characters and situations of the Scriptures.
